Visual Memory & Detail — InteractiveRemember the grid, spot what changed, code the row without a single slip.

A memory-and-precision test in three formats: eleven grid-pattern recalls forwards and in reverse, six spot-the-difference change-detection items on drawn scenes, and five accuracy-first symbol-coding rows. Visual Memory and Attention to Detail banded and interpreted in about 16 minutes.

Memory you reproduce, detail you point to

Eleven items flash a sequence of cells on a grid; when it stops you tap the cells back — sometimes in the order shown, sometimes in reverse, which means holding the whole sequence and reordering it before you answer. Six items show two drawn scenes and ask which element changed between them: a shape rotated, a count shifted, a shading swapped. Five symbol-coding rows ask you to match a legend precisely, with accuracy weighted above pace. Twenty-two items in about 16 minutes; the clock allows 18.

Recall items earn positional partial credit, so a sequence recalled almost perfectly scores almost fully and one cell out of place does not zero the item. Change-detection items have one keyed option, and coding rows are scored per correct cell. Every grid sequence and every scene pair is generated with a machine-verified key, and the scenes are drawn rather than photographed so that nothing depends on image quality or device. Response times are recorded but not scored. No third-party memory test is copied.

The report scores Visual Memory — the recall items — and Attention to Detail — change detection and coding — separately, banding each from Emerging to Exceptional with a coaching interpretation. Strong recall with careless detail work, or the reverse, is common and worth knowing about. A narrative is generated from your own responses, strengths and development areas are named, a prioritised growth plan starts from the lower competency, and the review shows each sequence you were shown against what you tapped, and each scene with the changed element marked.

Two competencies, scored from the items tagged to each:

What you walk away with

Memory and precision, banded separately

Visual Memory and Attention to Detail each get a banded bar and an interpretation. Holding a sequence and noticing a changed shape are different abilities that often diverge in the same person, and the report keeps them apart so development can be aimed.

An overall score with its band

One 0–100 score in Emerging, Developing, Strong or Exceptional, built from partial-credit recall, keyed detection and per-cell coding together. No pass mark; the band places you against the standard the items set and the narrative explains it.

What you saw against what you tapped

The item review reproduces each grid sequence beside your reproduction, marks the changed element in each scene pair and shows each coding row cell by cell — so you can see whether reverse sequences, long sequences or subtle changes were where marks went.

A growth plan from the weaker skill

Strengths and development areas are drawn from the two competency scores and the growth plan is prioritised from the lower one: building span and reverse recall, or slowing down to verify detail before committing.

Built for

  • Proofreaders, QA testers, auditors and reconciliation staff whose value lies in noticing what changed
  • Pharmacy, lab, warehouse and documentation roles where one transposed detail has consequences
  • Design, mapping and inspection candidates who work from visual memory of a layout
  • Anyone who has been told they are careless and wants to know whether it is memory or attention

The detail you did not notice is the one that costs the most.

Twenty-two recall, change-detection and coding items in about 16 minutes, both competencies banded when you finish.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Visual Memory & Detail interactive test measure?

Two things. Visual Memory, through eleven grid-sequence recalls — some forwards, some in reverse so you must reorder what you held — and Attention to Detail, through six spot-the-difference items on drawn scenes and five symbol-coding rows where accuracy is weighted above speed. Twenty-two items in all. It suits QA, audit, proofreading, pharmacy, documentation and inspection roles, and anyone who wants to know whether their slips come from memory or from attention.

How is it scored, and does a single wrong cell wipe out a recall item?

No. Recall items earn positional partial credit, so a mostly correct sequence earns most of the marks. Change-detection items are scored on the keyed option, and coding rows per correct cell. All keys are machine-verified and every grid sequence and scene pair is generated, so there is nothing to memorise in advance. Response times are recorded but do not affect the score; taking a moment to verify is not penalised.

How long does it take and what does the report contain?

About 16 minutes within an 18-minute clock. The report is available immediately: an overall 0–100 score with its band, banded scores for Visual Memory and Attention to Detail with coaching interpretations, a narrative generated from your own responses, strengths and development areas, a prioritised growth plan and a review of all 22 items showing each sequence and scene against your answer. The price includes everything — nothing further to unlock.

How would I use the report for hiring, development or a retake?

Hiring teams for accuracy-critical roles use the Attention to Detail band directly and the Visual Memory band where work is done from remembered layouts. Individuals use the review to see whether reverse sequences, longer spans or subtle changes are where they lose marks, follow the growth plan, and retake after practice; because sequences and scenes are generated, a second sitting is a fair comparison.

Is it appropriate outside India and which currencies can I pay in?

Yes. The items are grids, drawn shapes and symbols with no words beyond short instructions, so they apply unchanged in any country or language. The test runs in a browser on a phone, tablet or laptop and the scoring standard is the same everywhere. It is priced in INR and USD, with the live price shown on this page.

The interactive series replaces multiple-choice with timed, hands-on formats — drag, sort, respond, remember — so speed and accuracy are measured directly rather than inferred. Each is an original item set, scored per competency and reported with a banded profile and a growth plan.
