For Sales Leaders & Sales Hiring
Hire sellers on what they would do, not how they interview.
AssessAll for sales is a sales assessment suite used to screen sales candidates and to measure the capability of a working sales team. It is 29 assessments and 588 scored situations in four bands — early-career foundation habits, the core selling spine, specialist seats such as inside sales, field, retail counter, channel, presales and renewals, and first-line sales management — with three live spoken role-plays written and in preparation. Every scenario was authored for AssessAll: options score on a 0–3 gradient rather than right or wrong, each option carries the written reason for the score it receives, and an option that closes the deal by mis-selling scores zero. Organisations in India, the Philippines, the Gulf, the UK, the US and ANZ pay per assessment taken in credits (1 credit = ₹30 / US$0.50); individuals buy the same assessments on the store from ₹299 (US$2.99).

| Length | 18–24 scored items and 15–45 minutes per assessment. The full suite is 15.6 hours of testing time. |
| Price, organisations | 10–17 credits per assessment taken, at 1 credit = ₹30 / US$0.50. No seat licences and no annual contract. |
| Price, individuals | ₹299–₹499 or US$2.99–US$4.99 per assessment on the store. |
| Cue control | The keyed option is the longest option in 26.3% of items against a 25% chance baseline, at a 1.01 length ratio — measured across all 29 files together, after a first pass at 68%. |
| Availability | The 29 static assessments are on sale. The three live spoken role-plays are written and not yet released. |
| Scoring | Weighted partial credit on a 0–3 gradient. The best action takes full credit, a defensible second-best takes 2, a weak but harmless action takes 1, and an action that damages the customer or the deal takes 0. |
| Rationale | Every option carries a written reason for the score it receives. The reasons are written for the report and are never shown to the candidate during the test. |
| Ethics | Mis-selling, over-promising, concealed cost and pressure tactics score zero however well the deal lands, including when the pressure comes from the candidate's own manager. |
| Authorship | Original. No item is adapted from a published instrument, and no branded methodology name appears in any item, option, rationale or title. |
| Validation status | No criterion studies against quota attainment and no normative tables have been run on this suite. It is structured evidence to read alongside an interview, references and record, not a prediction of revenue. |
| Form types | 27 of the 29 are situational-judgement forms. Commercial Numeracy for Salespeople is live arithmetic, and the Sales Drive & Resilience Profile is a disposition measure with no pass mark. |
| Delivery | One share link or QR code per drive, on any phone or laptop, resumable on a weak connection. AI proctoring with an identity-baseline photo and a High/Medium/Low integrity band is optional per assessment. |
| Language and markets | Workplace English throughout, British spelling. Used by organisations in India, the Philippines, the Gulf, the UK, the US and ANZ. |

The interview rewards the interview
Sales interviews measure how well someone sells themselves for forty minutes, which is a different job from selling your product for four quarters. A situational assessment puts the same twenty decisions in front of every candidate and scores what they would do.
Right-or-wrong tests miss the near-miss
Most sales tests key one correct option and mark the rest zero, which collapses the gap between an answer that is second-best and one that loses the account. Ours score on a 0–3 gradient, so a candidate who is close reads as close.
Nobody measures the conduct until it costs something
Over-promised dates, concealed costs and quarter-end pressure are where a sales hire actually becomes expensive. Ethics is a scored assessment in this suite, not a values statement on the last slide.
A sales force spread across markets is compared on impressions
When a team sits in Bengaluru, Manila, Dubai, Manchester, Austin and Sydney, the only thing every manager has in common is an opinion. The same assessment, taken on the same competencies, gives a regional leader one page they can read across markets rather than six local views of who seems strong.
What you get
Built for sales hiring & capability
Four bands that map to real seats
Foundation (10 credits · ₹299 · US$2.99) for volume and early-career screening; Core selling (12 · ₹349 · US$3.99) for working account executives; Specialist (12 · ₹349 · US$3.99) for inside sales, field, retail counter, channel, presales, renewals and account expansion; Sales leadership (17 · ₹499 · US$4.99) for first-line managers.
Weighted partial credit with a per-option rationale
Every option carries the reason it scores what it scores — written for the report, not shown mid-test. A hiring manager reading a result can see which trade-off the candidate made, not just how many they got right.
Ethics scored hard
Mis-selling, over-promising, concealed cost and pressure tactics — including pressure applied by the candidate's own manager — score zero however good the commercial outcome. The suite refuses to reward a close it would not defend.
No branded methodology names anywhere
Behaviours are described generically — establishing budget, authority, need and timing, for example — never as somebody else's trademarked acronym. Nothing in the bank is adapted from a published instrument, so there is no licensing question attached to using it.
Option-length cue control across the whole bank
A central check found the keyed option was the longest option in 68% of items against a 25% chance baseline, so a test-wise candidate could have scored well without reading. The justification was moved into the rationale and thin distractors were given equal concreteness; the bank now sits at 26.3% longest-keyed with a 1.01 length ratio, and the key is the shortest option about as often as it is the longest.
One assessment set, six markets
The same assessment goes to a candidate in India, the Philippines, the Gulf, the UK, the US or ANZ through one share link or QR code, on any phone, with no account to create. Buyers are billed per assessment taken — in credits for organisations, in rupees or dollars on the store — so a five-person shortlist and a five-hundred-person drive are priced the same way.
Live spoken role-plays, in preparation
Three spoken scenarios on the conversation engine — a vague discovery call, a price pushback that is really an authority problem, and a renewal the customer has already quietly decided to leave. Written and held back until the engine's first live product has run clean; not on sale, and priced at 20 credits for business buyers when they are.
Sales Excellence bands
Buy the band that matches the seat you are filling.
Each assessment is bought and taken on its own — these are the combinations sales teams tend to run together. Prices are per person per assessment; a combination costs the sum of its parts, in credits for organisations and in rupees or dollars on the store.

Organisations are billed per assessment taken in credits (1 credit = ₹30 / US$0.50); individuals buy the same assessments on the store in rupees or US dollars. Rupee prices are GST-inclusive and show the tax split at checkout; dollar prices are flat, with no tax line. Dollar figures are fixed price points from the published band (₹100 = US$1, rounded to a .99 price point), not a live currency conversion, so the price in the markup, on this page and at checkout is the same number. Combination prices above are the sum of their components — remove one and the cost follows. The live spoken role-plays are not on sale; the credit figure shown is the price when they are released, and they carry no consumer price.

Live spoken role-plays
On the business catalogue3 spoken scenarios on the conversation engine, where the buyer answers back — stalls, deflects, reopens price, and changes with how the seller handles them. 20 credits per candidate, assigned from your credit balance. Business buyers only — there is no consumer price.
Discovery call
A first call with an operations director who is warm, rushed and agreeable to the point of being useless. She agrees with whatever framing she is offered and gives generalities that sound like answers. She becomes specific only for a seller who asks a second question about her first answer.
20 credits — business buyers
Price pushback
A buyer who rates the product and says it costs too much. Price is the shortest sentence that ends a conversation he does not want to have; the real constraint is his approval limit and a finance director who has already turned him down twice. He drops the price framing for a seller who asks how the decision actually gets made.
20 credits — business buyers
Renewal at risk
A three-year customer six weeks from renewal who has already chosen a replacement and has not said so. He is courteous throughout, and the warmth is the disguise — a candidate who reads his tone as a reading of the account leaves the call feeling it went well. He answers a direct question honestly, and is quietly relieved to be asked one.

Markets and what differs
The same suite everywhere, and the four things that are local.
The assessments, the competencies and the scoring are identical in every market. Currency, tax display, one item bank's worked amounts and one jurisdictional judgement are not — so they are set out here rather than buried in the body copy.
Where it is used
Organisations in India, the Philippines, the Gulf (UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar), the UK, the US and ANZ buy the suite on the same terms. Delivery is a share link or QR code that works on any phone, so a shortlist spread across three time zones is assessed in one wave rather than one country at a time.
Outside India: US dollars
Organisations outside India are quoted and charged in US dollars at 1 credit = US$0.50, and individuals buy on the store at US$2.99, US$3.99 or US$4.99 per assessment. Dollar prices are flat and all-inclusive: no tax line is added at checkout, and the figure shown is the figure charged. These are fixed price points, not a live currency conversion.
India specifics
In India the suite is quoted and charged in rupees: 1 credit = ₹30 for organisations, and ₹299, ₹349 or ₹499 per assessment on the store for individuals. Rupee prices are GST-inclusive and the tax split is shown on screen at checkout. Indian contact-centre, GCC and staffing buyers who also screen for voice and back-office roles are usually better served starting at the BPO and GCC hiring page, which carries the voice, typing and aptitude screens alongside these.
What is and is not localised in the items
Scenarios use generic buyer roles and workplace English with British spelling, and no item depends on a local idiom. Two exceptions are worth knowing before you buy: the worked amounts inside Commercial Numeracy for Salespeople are written in rupees, though the arithmetic — margin, the cost of a discount, quota — is identical in any currency; and two items in Prospecting Discipline turn on a data-protection judgement that reads differently under GDPR than it does elsewhere. Nothing in the suite certifies compliance with any regulator in any market.
Common use cases
- Screening volume applicants for trainee, inside-sales and field-sales seats
- Benchmarking a working sales team before designing the training year
- Deciding between two shortlisted account executives on the same twenty decisions
- Assessing readiness before promoting a seller into a first-line sales manager role
- Measuring channel and partner managers on joint-pipeline honesty, not just revenue
- Establishing a conduct baseline for a regulated or complaint-sensitive sales force
- Comparing sellers across countries on one set of competencies rather than six local opinions
- Pre and post measurement around a sales training programme
- Individuals preparing for a sales interview who want to know where they actually stand
Pricing for sales hiring & capability

No seat licences, no annual contract, and new organisations get 250 free credits — enough to run a first shortlist before spending anything.
Frequently asked questions
What is a sales assessment, and what does this one measure?+
A sales assessment presents a seller with situations from the job — a vague buyer, a late discount request, a forecast that will not hold — and scores the action they choose. AssessAll's Sales Excellence suite is 29 assessments and 588 scored situations across four bands: foundation habits, core selling, specialist seats, and first-line sales management. It measures judgement in those situations and reports it competency by competency. It does not measure how much someone will sell, and we do not claim it does.
How do you assess sales candidates?+
Put the same situations in front of every candidate and score the action they choose, rather than scoring how well they described themselves in an interview. On AssessAll you pick the band that matches the seat — Foundation for early-career and volume screening, Core selling for quota-carrying account executives, Specialist for a named seat such as inside sales or channel, Sales leadership for first-line managers — send one share link or QR code, and read the shortlist on the same competencies. A typical screen is three or four assessments, roughly 90 to 140 minutes in total, taken on a phone or laptop, with AI proctoring and an integrity band available on every attempt.
Do sales assessments predict sales performance?+
Not on the strength of anything AssessAll has measured. This suite has an authoring standard, a documented item-quality pass across the whole bank, and a written reason for every option score; it has no criterion studies against quota attainment and no normative tables. Until it has both, this suite is not described with words like “validated” or “predictive”. Treat the score as structured evidence about judgement, to be read alongside the interview, references and track record. Anyone claiming a sales test predicts revenue should be asked which study, on which population, against which outcome.
What is the difference between a sales aptitude test and a situational judgement test?+
A sales aptitude test measures general capacity — reasoning, numeracy, verbal ability — and is not specific to selling. A situational judgement test presents a real job situation and asks what you would do, so it measures judgement in context rather than raw ability. In AssessAll's suite, 27 of the 29 assessments are situational-judgement forms; Commercial Numeracy for Salespeople is the one live-arithmetic form, and the Sales Drive & Resilience Profile is a disposition measure with no pass mark. Most sales hiring decisions want the judgement measure, with numeracy added where the seller will build their own discount and quota arithmetic.
How do you test discovery and questioning skill?+
With items that make the seller choose the next question rather than describe their approach. Discovery & Questioning Skill (20 items, 30 minutes, Foundation band) scores open against closed questioning, excavating the problem behind the stated request, and hearing what the buyer did not say; Active Listening in the Sales Conversation (18 items, 26 minutes) scores how much of a buyer's sentence survives the paraphrase and whether a hedge was picked up when it occurred. The best follow-up scores 3, a defensible second-best scores 2, and a question that closes the topic early scores 1 or 0, with the reason attached to each. A live spoken discovery role-play, in which the prospect stays agreeable and vague until someone asks a second question about her first answer, is written and in preparation.
How do you test objection handling and negotiation?+
Objection Handling (24 items, 40 minutes, Core selling band) covers price, timing, incumbent, authority and trust objections, including the ones that are really a different objection wearing a price label. Negotiation Fundamentals (22 items, 33 minutes) scores concession discipline, trading rather than conceding, and knowing which deals to walk away from, while Pricing & Discount Discipline (20 items, 30 minutes) scores margin protection and working inside a stated discount authority. Because scoring is graded rather than right-or-wrong, a candidate who trades a concession at the wrong stage reads differently from one who simply gives the discount away — and the report says which they did.
How do you assess sales managers rather than individual contributors?+
On different decisions, in a different band. Sales leadership (17 credits, ₹499 or US$4.99 per assessment) is four assessments about what a first-line manager owns: Sales Manager Effectiveness (22 items), Sales Coaching Judgement (20 items), Forecasting & Pipeline Review (20 items) and Sales Hiring Judgement (20 items) — coverage, capability and conduct calls, coaching that changes behaviour rather than rescuing the deal, commit discipline and inspection that does not tip into micromanagement, and evaluating candidates on evidence rather than charisma. Individual contributors are assessed on the Core selling and Specialist bands instead. A seller being considered for promotion is usually run on all four leadership assessments, 68 credits per participant, before the conversation rather than after it.
Does this work for BPO, inside sales, field sales and retail teams?+
Yes — that is what the Specialist band is for, at 12 credits, ₹349 or US$3.99 per assessment. Inside Sales Screen measures telephone selling: pace, call control, and the CRM discipline that survives forty dials a day. Field Sales covers territory and route economics, Retail Counter Selling covers walk-in conversion and queue judgement, and Channel Partner Management, Presales & Solution Consulting, Customer Success & Renewals and Account Planning & Expansion cover the remaining named seats. Contact-centre operations usually pair one Specialist assessment with AssessAll's spoken-English and customer-judgement screens rather than buying the whole sales band.
What does a live spoken role-play add over a written test, and when is it available?+
A written item scores the decision; a spoken role-play scores the decision and its delivery, and the buyer answers back. Three scenarios run on AssessAll's conversation engine — a discovery call with a polite, busy, vague prospect; a price pushback from a buyer who likes the product and whose real constraint is his approval limit; and a renewal with a customer who has already decided to leave — and what the buyer says next depends on what the seller actually said. They are written and deliberately held until the engine's first live product has run clean in production. They cannot be bought today; when released they will be 20 credits per candidate for business buyers, with no consumer price.
How is the suite scored, and why partial credit rather than right or wrong?+
Options score on a 0–3 gradient. The best action takes full credit, a defensible second-best takes 2, a weak but harmless action takes 1, and an action that damages the customer or the deal takes 0 — because in selling the distance between second-best and account-losing matters more than a count of correct answers. Every option carries a written reason for its score, which is what a hiring manager reads in the report and what the candidate never sees during the test.
How is ethics handled?+
As a scored construct rather than a values statement. Where an option is a mis-sell, an over-promise or a concealed cost, it scores zero even when it closes the deal, and one of the ten Core selling assessments — Sales Ethics & Commercial Judgement, 22 items, 35 minutes — is dedicated to it, including scenarios where the pressure comes from the candidate's own manager rather than the customer. If you are hiring into a regulated or complaint-sensitive sales force, run that assessment first. It measures conduct judgement; it is not a compliance certification for any regulator in any market.
How do you know the test measures selling rather than test-taking?+
Because we checked the most common way it fails. A central pass across the whole bank found the keyed option was the longest option in 68% of items against a 25% chance baseline, averaging 1.34 times the length of its distractors — meaning a test-wise candidate could have scored well by picking the longest option without reading the scenario. The reasoning that made keys long was moved into the rationale, thin distractors were given equal concreteness, and the bank now sits at 26.3% longest-keyed with a 1.01 length ratio, with the key genuinely the shortest option about as often as it is the longest. The check is two-sided on purpose: making the key shortest is the same defect inverted.
What does it cost to assess a sales candidate?+
Organisations pay per assessment taken in credits: 10 for Foundation, 12 for Core selling and Specialist, 17 for Sales leadership, at 1 credit = ₹30 or US$0.50. Individuals buy the same assessments on the store at ₹299 / US$2.99 for Foundation, ₹349 / US$3.99 for Core selling and Specialist, and ₹499 / US$4.99 for Sales leadership. A four-assessment account executive screen is 48 credits per candidate. Rupee prices are GST-inclusive and dollar prices are flat with no tax line; there are no seat licences or annual contracts, and new organisations get 250 free credits.
How long does each assessment take?+
Between 15 and 45 minutes, on forms of 18 to 24 scored items. Foundation assessments run 15 to 30 minutes, Core selling 30 to 40, Specialist 30 to 35, and the four Sales leadership assessments 40 to 45.
